Profile

Todd Markham

Todd is a synthetic organic chemist working with Prof Rachel Codd in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney. Todd contributes to a research program in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and radiopharmaceutical chelator design inspired by the microbial secondary metabolites known as siderophores. Todd obtained his PhD in 2021 at Flinders University in collaboration with CSIRO under the supervision of Associate Professor Martin Johnston (Flinders University) and Professor Peter Duggan (CSIRO, Flinders University). During this time, he developed site-selective chemical transformations for the synthetic modification of the pyrethrins, an industrially relevant class of natural product insecticides produced by plants.
