Dr Yufan Wang is an AMTAR Research Fellow in the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH) at The University of Queensland (UQ). She completed a Master’s Degree in Health Economics from UQ, before pursuing a PhD in 2021 under the supervision of Professor Haitham Tuffaha and Professor Alexandra McCarthy. During her PhD, Yufan worked as an evaluator within CBEH’s HTA team, assessing submissions made to the Australian and Singapore governments to reimburse new drugs and medical devices.

Yufan’s research focuses on health technology assessment (HTA), structured expert elicitation, oncology care and implementation science. Her work is well-documented in cancer supportive care and cancer prevention journals. At AMTAR, she explores the role of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in cancer treatment, seeking to develop an innovative HTA framework to ensure robust evaluation of these novel therapies at the production stage to inform early reimbursement decisions.
