Terachem Conference report

In September, AMTAR travel award recipient Arni Aries traveled to Brixen (Bressanone), Italy for the TERACHEM 2026 summer school and symposium:

The TERACHEM 2026 Summer School, held from 21–26 September, focused on the development and clinical translation of next-generation theragnostic radiopharmaceuticals for cancer care. Of 60 applications, 37 participants were selected. The program combined expert lectures, practical workshops, project-based learning, and participation in an international symposium. Key topics included radiochemistry, radionuclide production, molecular imaging, preclinical evaluation, quality control, and clinical translation. Participants were encouraged to apply their knowledge through the conceptual design of theragnostic agents w

hile developing scientific, critical-thinking, and communication skills. The summer school also fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and professional networking among early-career researchers.

The TERACHEM 2026 Symposium, held from 23–26 September 2026, brought together researchers in radiopharmaceutical sciences to discuss advances in radiometal chemistry and applications in nuclear medicine. The program featured keynote lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions covering radionuclide production, radiopharmaceutical design, preclinical development, and radiotheragnostics. I presented my research poster on Friday, 25 September 2026, from 6:15 to 7:30 pm. This provided an opportunity to discuss my work with participants, particularly those interested in lead-based radiopharmaceuticals. I also introduced AMTAR’s research capabilities and highlighted its research focus, helping raise awareness of its contributions and potential collaborations in radiopharmaceutical development. Overall, the symposium provided a valuable platform for scientific knowledge exchange, research dissemination, and professional networking, while strengthening opportunities for future collaboration in radiopharmaceutical sciences.
